Maureen is a young artisan from Paris, who moved down to the village of Vallauris, nearby Antibes on the French Riviera. Vallauris is reputed for its ceramic and the Picasso movement.
M.S.G's work is based on artisanal techniques, using plaster forms in which she moulds every single ceramic piece. Every piece goes then in a 3000 degrees warm oven for several hours. The porcelain and the colours are composed by the artist, Maureen. She tends to say that it is always a surprise, a happy one or a bad one, to see how both the form and the colour end up.
The particularity of M.S.G's ceramics is the enamelling. All her pieces are varnished on the inside and have a rough aspect on the outside.
